Batman Orpheus Rising #1 2001

Batman: Orpheus Rising #1, published by DC in October 2001, introduces the new vigilante Orpheus to Gotham City. As a rash of police shootings escalates tensions between the GCPD and street gangs, Batman investigates, encountering the mysterious Orpheus. This issue marks the first appearance of Gavin King as Orpheus, a martial artist and entertainment producer who becomes a new, albeit short-lived, ally to Batman. Orpheus aims to be a hero for Gotham's black community. He later plays a significant role in the 'War Games' storyline.
