Iron Man #1 1996

This is the inaugural issue of Iron Man's solo series, published in May 1968, following his adventures in Tales of Suspense. The story sees Iron Man captured by A.I.M., where their leader Mordius attempts to duplicate his armor, leading to a confrontation with three armored foes. Concurrently, S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Jasper Sitwell encounters Whitney Frost, secretly the villainous Big M, leader of the Maggia. This issue is notable for being the first standalone Iron Man comic and features a retelling of his origin story. It also marks the first appearance of Whitney Frost.
