Spawn #30 (1995)

Spawn #30, published by Image Comics in April 1995, finds Spawn venturing into Ku Klux Klan territory during his trek back to New York. He intervenes to protect an African American family from the Klan's terror. In a pivotal moment, Spawn uses his Necroplasm to transform the KKK's leader into a Black man, resulting in the leader being lynched by his own unsuspecting members. This issue is notable for its direct confrontation of racism and features the distinctive artwork of Greg Capullo and Todd McFarlane.
