Spawn #301 marks a historic milestone as the longest-running creator-owned comic. In this issue, Al Simmons, now the self-proclaimed “King of the Dead,” unleashes a powerful ambush, revealing his costume as a booby-trapped decoy and wielding raw necro-energy. The resulting shockwave resets his power and awakens other Hellspawns, including the first full appearance of Ninja Spawn. Spawn then publicly confronts corrupt figures and hunts celestial and infernal agents, declaring a new era in the war. Todd McFarlane returned to pencil and ink interior pages for this landmark issue.
