Superman #167 2001

Superman #167, published in February 1964, presents the historic first team-up of Lex Luthor and Brainiac. In this Silver Age tale, Luthor escapes prison and uncovers Brainiac's true nature as an android, leading to their combined assault on the Man of Steel. The issue is notable for establishing Brainiac's new origin as a creation of the Computer Tyrants. It also features the first cameo appearance of Vril Dox II, later known as Brainiac 2, and the debut of Tharla, who would become Lex Luthor's future wife.
