Superman #171 2001

Superman #171, published by DC in August 1964, features three compelling tales. In "Superman's Sacrifice!", alien gamblers Rokk and Sorban make their first appearance, forcing the Man of Steel into a deadly choice for Earth's survival. "The Curse of Magic!" sees Mr. Mxyzptlk return, casting a spell where Superman's idioms literally come true. Finally, "The Nightmare Ordeal of Superman!" finds a powerless Superman stranded on a red sun planet, battling cavemen and losing his iconic costume.
